Cincinnati Bell to Honor Families of Fallen Heroes
CINCINNATI, Aug 05, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Every year, Cincinnati Bell (NYSE: CBB) and WEBN strive to make the annual last blast of summer, the Cincinnati Bell/WEBN Fireworks event, more special than the year before. This year's show is slated for Sunday, Sept. 5 (at 9:05 p.m. on 9/5).
And every year when the rockets go up, our hearts go out--to our armed forces serving us overseas--because it has become our custom to dedicate the show to our Tri-state military personnel. But this year, how could we go one better to enhance our remembrance of the troops and their families?
Cincinnati Bell is proud to share special VIP seating at the Cincinnati Bell/WEBN Fireworks with the families of our Tri-state fallen heroes. These "Gold Star" families, whom have lost a loved one in service to our country in Iraq or Afghanistan, are going to be guests of honor for a ringside seat at this fabulous event. They will take a special place among the 500,000 people expected to enjoy this world-famous fireworks display, now in its 34th consecutive year on the banks of the Ohio River.
"This is our small way to say thank you," said Jack Cassidy, president and CEO of Cincinnati Bell, "for their courage and dedication on behalf of our nation and the freedoms we hold dear. We hope that the sacrifices these Gold Star families have made will never be forgotten, and in fact encourage all of us to pursue the dreams that these freedoms enable."
DVD copies of the Cincinnati Bell/WEBN Fireworks event are going to be sent to our Tri-state troops overseas, thanks to Prestige A/V Services, the Yellow Ribbon Support Center, and Fox Channel 19, which plans to telecast coverage of the fireworks live in HD. Coverage begins at 8 p.m. on Sept 5. WEBN once again plans to feature their exclusive stereo fireworks soundtrack on 102.7 FM.
